A Plantsman’s Garden, 2000

Entertaining friends and a love of spending time outside in the garden were the inspiration for this garden in Rutland, which I created for a couple who were particularly interested in plants. I included a small boulder water feature for sound, a pergola with seating and wisteria draped over for dappled shade, and we used small brick setts to create gentle curves to the borders. As the title suggests the big focus was on the planting; lots of variety to create all year round interest.
