A Country Garden, 1998

A middle-aged couple’s individual passions were combined in this Hertfordshire country garden, where a central wooded area created a feeling of space and movement. Her love of herbaceous borders, Buxus and herbs and his desire to avoid crass cutting gave clear definition to a scheme that celebrated the seasons through planting. Good autumn and winter colour, beautiful spring woodland flowers and summer borders that celebrated the sun and warmth formed a garden in which to truly enjoy each month of the year.
