What I love more than anything about my work is the way it allows me to bring together my passion for plants with my love of design, to create special places for people to enjoy. Whether it’s for an individual, a couple, family or a corporate commission, the challenge is always to find out what really matters about the garden.
It’s very much a partnership, where we start by finding out what’s important and how the garden is to be used. We talk about design ideas and planting; all the time we’re defining the information that will help me to come up with a concept that is both practical and inspiring.
A scheme that works for the client and sits comfortably in its surrounds has to be about good design and intelligent planting and can only be achieved by working together in this way. And the end result is always a garden that they can get involved with as they shape and enjoy it over the years.
Once we arrive at the final design, I can continue to help by introducing my associate company, newgroundlandscapes, or the client is free to source their own landscapers. What’s important is that there is a choice, and I’m always on hand throughout the process should the client need me.
