More success for award-winning New Ground Landscapes

As ever in any industry, award ceremonies are a barometer of the quality of work being undertaken. At February's Association of Professional Landscapers' annual awards, New Ground Landscapes was recognised with three prestigious awards, showing how well it is doing in the ever-competitive design and build gardening market.

The projects that were recognised by the experienced judging panel were:

• - a large domestic garden in Hertfordshire which included bold design elements. A substantial staircase with York hand-made bricks and Portland stone steps was created, as well as substantial planting including a lime avenue, knot garden, vegetable garden and extensive herbaceous borders.


• - a Derbyshire garden that used local stone walling techniques to really give it a sense of style and place. Sleeper steps allow the garden owners to go to the top of the garden to look out over the surrounding stunning landscape.


• - a small town garden in the centre of Bath which only had access through the house – and as a result saw nearly 20 tonnes of material come out, with nearly 30 tonnes going in. The final design is a cool and calm garden that uses trellis, water and planting to delineate space.

On receiving the awards, Lincolnshire-based associate designer Adam Frost said: ‘We are delighted to receive this recognition from the Association of Professional Landscapers. Sometimes it is easy to forget all the hard and detailed work that goes into designing, planning, building and finishing a garden. I think the awards reflect the good quality work that our staff are doing.'
