"Improving the quality of gardens and the overall environment is a key concern for the teams at New Ground Landscapes"
June 2007 - 'Gardeners World Live' Challenge
Having been set the near-impossible challenge to design a garden to incorporate three other designers' work, Adam Frost Landscapes felt duly proud to receive a silver-gilt medal from RHS judges at the BBC Gardeners’ World Live show at the NEC, Birmingham (13-17 June 2007).
The brief, set by car company Volkswagen, was for Adam to design a garden encompassing three different gardens (including a Moorish-style vegetable garden and an urban space), with each one being no bigger in footprint than a VW Golf Plus. As a result, Adam’s design had to hold the three disparate designs together, using a mixture of perennial and shrub planting, trees and open turf spaces.
Adam said: "It was a real challenge to design this garden – this was a tough one! But we were really pleased with the silver-gilt award, and goes to show that somehow, balancing three designers' needs, with those of your own, can be done."
