It is not often that landscape contractors have to create a space to incorporate another designer’s work, let alone three pieces of work! At next month’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live show (at the NEC, Birmingham, 13-17 June) Adam Frost Landscapes has been chosen by Volkswagen car company to create a space three designs can fit into.
The concept goes as follows: last year, Volkswagen held a competition for people to design a garden that would fit into the footprint of a VW Golf Plus; the three winners were selected; and then Adam Frost Landscapes was appointed to create the overall space these three ‘footprint’ designs would be sitting within. Adam Frost Landscapes is also responsible for the construction of each individual garden.
It may sound all slightly odd, but the end result will not only be exciting, it will prove just what can be done in a small space.
