"We truly believe to design something well you should understand how it is built, the construction gives you your bones to the garden, creating our spaces to use and areas to plant."
Space and Place, Bedfordshire
Designing a garden in a country location can sometimes be more challenging than a garden in the middle of a city. There is a need to be more aware of the surroundings, and also balance the planting/hard materials to the location. This design recognises these constraints. The design for this farmhouse garden includes a stone set drive (overlooking acres of farmland), York stone terrace paving, natural planting, water features, renovated existing brick walls, bespoke gates and an irrigation and lighting system. The result is a balance between contemporary needs and a rural location.
