I seem to be getting worse with these blogs. How do you bloggers keep up? Mind you, I have been pretty busy.
As predicted, Gardeners’ World Live was a lot of fun. Matt and Jim were on top form and the garden turned out really well (well, I was pleased anyway!). Added to that, I helped Nick Hamilton lay out the plants for his marquee display and picked up a silver-gilt medal so not a bad return. Take a look at the pics below.

Time for some real work now – all is going well with the new office plans and we should be in before winter arrives. I can’t wait and nor can my team, I think they’re getting a bit bored of our portakabin (I don’t know what’s wrong with them….!) Plus we have been putting the finishing touches to our first garden back at Barnsdale, which has been good fun.
It’s a small Beach Retreat for a competition run by the clothing company Lands’ End. Anyway, the inspiration came from a beach hut idea that the winner had designed so the garden has been developed as a retreat from the beach with coastal tolerant plants and a fire pit, somewhere to soak up the atmosphere of the sea – well, that’s the theory!
Visit http://www.landsenduk.typepad.com/onboard/2010/07/the-lands-end-colour-garden-party.html to see what the finished garden looks like. Of course, you could always come along to Barnsdale and take a look for yourself!
