Introducing the latest additions to the Frost clan –Sweet and Sour, Vindaloo and Salad (great names don’t you think….?! My kids’ idea I promise).

They are four very friendly Black Pekin Bantams that we bought for our two youngest children’s birthdays.
And no, the cage wasn’t bought for her but I must admit she does look very at home in there don’t you agree? Mind you, I did become a little alarmed when my wife asked me to put an extra lock on the door (and you think I’m joking….). And we’re only into week 2 of the holidays!
Mind you, it’s not all straightforward keeping chickens as I’ve just had to save one from almost drowning in the kids’ paddling pool – not sure how, I’m just starting the investigation! All joking aside, I thought it was doing to die as it was freezing, shaking and sneezing. I wasn’t sure of the correct course of action so I blow-dried it – yes – blow-dried it! I put it on the kitchen work top and it took ages, almost 20 minutes. See, who would have thought it would take that long to dry a chicken (learn something new every day). Anyway, she looked great at the end of it and there doesn’t seem to be any side effects. To be honest, quite the opposite, we seemed to have bonded as every time I go out into the garden she comes running up to me – bless!
I will, of course, keep you updated on their progress. I would recommend them to anyone – much better than rabbits (why would you want to keep a rabbit in your garden?)
