It’s all a bit mad here at the moment but I’m not complaining though, to be honest I love it!
Just back from Chelsea and now off to Gardeners’ World Live at the NEC, which no doubt will be a crack. I have a motley crew for that one – Matt Biggs of Gardeners’ Question Time fame, plus Jim Buttress (RHS judge and holder of the VMH). If anyone saw the ‘Save Lullingstone Castle’ series Jim was the sensible one on that (first time for everything Jim!).
Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yes, these two characters (beer monsters is probably the best way to describe them) have asked me to design and help them plant the stage garden for the show (http://www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com/adam-frost-designs-interactive-stage-garden-bbc-gardeners-world-live) so the likes of Alan Titchmarsh, Monty Don and the GW presenters can do their stuff. No money in it at all but I should have a tale or two to share on my return!
Chelsea went well. It was meant to be a quiet one for me but I ended up helping Mark Gregory with his planting on the Children’s Society Garden, which of course won gold - well done pal! Added to that I lent a hand to New Ground Landscapes who built the Thrive garden designed by Jo Thompson. I thought this was a great urban garden and the RHS judges obviously agreed as they gave it a gold medal and best in show for the category so well done to all! Winning that one is becoming a bit of a habit for New Ground (admittedly, not a bad one to have).
It was good to have a year out but, to be honest, I missed not doing my own garden so we are already planning for next year. I’ll keep you posted…..
